“There are known knowns. These are things we know that we know. There are known unknowns. That is to say, there are things that we know we don’t know. But there are also unknown unknowns. There are things we don’t know we don’t know.”
Donald Rumsfeld
How does someone know if they’re missing something about themselves that would make life more intentional, more participatory, more magical?
Does seeing something in another make you wish that you had that quality? Could it be that we have never seen a side of ourselves because it’s hidden under cultural restraints, or religious strictures, or societal dictates?
What we need to know to claim our personal freedom is what the unknowns are about ourselves. Those aspects of yourself that have been denied until they are no longer known or acknowledged by us.
This discordance you are experiencing now is what life looks like when you’re out of balance between your intellect self and your soul self. That persistent feeling that your life would be different if . . .
I think this is the way I/you can go forward. For example, in medicine homeostasis is recognized as a relatively stable equilibrium between interdependent elements, meaning that it is a standard of measurement that can always be referred back to in order to restore optimal health.
But if we didn’t know what perfect health looked like then we wouldn’t know what to fix so we could feel better. It’s the same with our invisible self, our essential make-up that part of you which only you are privy to and therefore, it relies on you to see if you are sick from lack of being who you truly are!
The silliest situation in the whole world is this fracas between ego and spirit. They are both invisible! Except one of them is more ‘in charge’ than the other. I don’t believe that the ego was ever meant to rule over us – it would be like the CPU in your computer telling you what to do.
And, don’t worry, I’m aware of the progress of AI (Artificial Intelligence) and how it is being used to make decisions for us based purely on someone’s interpretation of what response is ‘wanted’, ‘correct’, ‘useful’ etc. Where then is our freedom of choice to go our own way?
I don’t mean this article to turn into a soapbox of my perception on things but my concern lies in the fact that if you don’t know how necessary knowing about all the components of your existence is, then you are missing out on using every ounce of your persona and its’ abilities.
Without a set point or starting point you can’t evolve knowingly and contribute to consciousness as a whole from a point of evolutionary benefit.
Your abilities just need to be activated or recognized as part of your invisible/intuitive powers that are shared by millions but seen only by few – you the reader.
